Industrialization is one of the main challenges for Mexican industry, but therefore it’s also a great opportunity. Increasing the industrialization capacity to add value to products is essential to guide our production towards the world market.
To achieve this, it’s necessary to have industries that process, for example, food, so transform it into products whose variety of presentations can satisfy a wide range of customers around the world.
An example of this is the industrialization of avocado. It takes advantage of the great avocado production capacity in Michoacan —which is an export-quality fruit— and gives it added value by transforming it into packaged and ready-to-eat guacamole. Tha’ts how this extremely popular and representative Meixcan product manages to succeed in the North American, European, Asian and Middle Eastern markets, mainly in countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Israel, China, Germany, Spain, among many others.
And just like avocado, there are hundreds of fruits and vegetables from different agricultural regions of Mexico, which are privileged by nature due to the quality of their land, water, climate and geographical location. Some of them are Queretaro, Puebla, Jalisco, Guanajuato, Sonora and Sinaloa, and Michoacán.
Ths state is the main producer of avocado, strawberry, blackberry, peach, plum and lentil, but is has important companies in the agribusiness sector that contributes significantly to increasing the presence of Mexican products throughout the world.
One of them is PROFUSA, a fruit and vegetable processing company for the national and international food industry. Their work oriented towards quality and innovation has allowed them to have a presence in 12 countries around the world, with top-tier clients such as Danone, Lala, Alpura, Chobani, Nestlé, Campbell’s and many others.
PROFUSA‘s specialty is the processing of fruits and vegetables, freezing them for direct sale or transforming it into jams, purées, dessert fillings, chocolate-covered strawberries and bananas, vegetable milks, bases for yogurt and ice cream, doing it under the highest quality standards in block quick freezing (BQF) and individual quick freezing (IQF).
And this quality translates into results. In 2020 , PROFUSA had a total production of 333 million pounds (approximately 151,000 tons) in its different production processes. Among them, 155 million pounds of frozen fruits and vegetables under the IQF method; 88 million pounds of fruit jams and other variations; 52 million pounds of toppings and packaging, and 7.5 million pounds of fresh produce.
Besides PROFUSA’s sales within the country, the company exports 195 products to countries such as the United States, Canada, Chile, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway and Japan. But in the coming months, thanks to a team effort made out bya group of businessmen and me, all these Mexican products are expected to enter the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and others in the Middle East region.
Personally, I had the opportunity to visit PROFUSA plant and it was a unique experience. A demonstration that the quality of Mexican export products is not only accepted, but also has great demand in the world market. The company is continuing pushing its work towards its main goal: always improve, grow and having a larger global presence, competing with the best and largest companies in the production of processed food industry.
For this reason, business alliances between factories and international marketing companies, such as Ambertec International Business, are highly attractive to generate the necessary synergy with the clear and effective purpose of joining forces, teaming up and working hard to conquer food processing industry market.
That’s why is important to highlight the work carried out by companies such as PROFUSA, because all the export companies share the same quality: they are different. They have no limits in their growth, in innovating and developing new products.
That is the greatness of this type of companies, which are not only permanently in the customer’s preference, but also works on continuous improvement, in the effort to grow even more and to be better. And that is where some of us from Sonora, some Mexicans, want to be, making this effort because we believe in the value of Mexican products and their potential to conquer the world.
